How to use a Rivian referral code
Using a Rivian referral code takes about 10 seconds at checkout — but the window to apply it closes the moment your order is placed. Here's how it works from start to finish.

Start your configuration on rivian.com. Head to the R1S, R1T, or R2 configuration page. The referral code field appears at the order summary step — not at the beginning.

Enter the code before submitting. Paste SCOTT4395475 into the referral code field on your order summary screen. The page will confirm it's applied.

Complete your order. Your free Adventure Network charging activates automatically at delivery — no separate activation needed. Rewards points typically appear in the Rivian app within two weeks of delivery.

Use your points in the Gear Shop or R1 Shop. Points are redeemable toward accessories, gear, and vehicle purchases (final price only — not deposits or fees). They expire two years after being credited, so don't let them sit.
Forgot to enter your referral code?
Call a Rivian Guide and ask them to add it before your vehicle is delivered. Once your Rivian is delivered, referral codes cannot be applied retroactively — so call sooner rather than later. Calling is faster than email.
The referral program is open to all R1S, R1T, and R2 buyers in the US and Canada. A few state-level restrictions apply: owners in Ohio and Virginia cannot earn referral rewards — buyers from those states can still use a code and earn their own points, but the referrer receives nothing. California owners are capped at 25 referral rewards per year. On the referrer side, free Adventure Network charging stacks across referrals up to a cumulative maximum of 36 months. It works for both R1 Shop orders and custom configurations — Rivian extended the program to custom builds in early 2026. There's no cost to use someone's referral code; the rewards are funded by Rivian, not added to your purchase price.
